3.32 lakh NFSA families to reap benefits of free food grain distribution for the third consecutive time
Gandhinagar, Sunday: Chief Minister of the state Mr. Vijay Rupani has ensured the welfare of 68.80 lakh NFSA card holding families and 61 lakh APL-1 card holding families amidst lockdown by providing free food grains since April, 2020.

At present, NFSA card holders in Gujarat (except for Ahmedabad) are availing free food grains trough the state government and Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. 55 lakh families will reap its benefits. The Chief Minister has decided to commence free food grain distribution for 3.32 lakh NFSA card holders in Ahmedabad.

Providing details of the same, Secretary to CM , Mr.Ashwani Kumar said, “ Free food grain distribution for 3.32 lakh NFSA card holders in Ahmedabad will begin from 27th May, 2020 to 6th June, 2020. Under this, the card holders will avail food grains as sanctioned by the government. In addition to that, they will also avail 3.5 kg wheat and 1.5 kg rice per person and 1 kg pulses per card under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana. “

Card holders have been divided based on the last digit of their ration card. The division is as under:

4.60 lakh APL-1 card holders in Ahmedabad have availed the benefits of free food grain distribution for the month of May, 2020.
The grain distribution is done keeping in mind the necessary safety protocols. Card holders are instructed to wear masks and practice social distancing while availing grains.
